Il reste seulement 6 jours au Festival! Ça a passé vite! Mais il faut pas relaxer tout de suite, il reste encore pas mal de grosses activités à passer à travers! Le samedi et dimanche on a deux gros concerts au club social et ça va être assez une grosse tâche! D'ici ce temps là on à des soirées de raconteurs, une soirée de violoneux, l'ouverture du Rendez-Vous de la Baie... etc. Mais je suis certaine qu'on pourra passer à travers tout ça sans problème! Un gros merci à tout ceux qui ont participé jusqu'à date et j'espère vous voir encore aux prochaines activités!

There are only 6 days left in the Festival! It went by so fast! But it's not time to relax just yet, there are still plenty of activities to get through! On Saturday and Sunday there are two big concerts at the social club and that's going to be a lot of work! Between now and then we also have storytelling evenings, a fiddler's night, the opening of the Rendez-vous de la Baie... and so on and so forth! But I'm sure we'll be able to get through all of that without a problem! A big thanks to all those who participated so far and I hope to see you again at the next activities!

Première semaine! First week!

Wow! Je pense que c'est tout ce que je peux dire après une fin de semaine comme ça! De jeudi à dimanche c'était pas mal "non-stop"! Mais quel début pour le Festival! L'ouverture c'était tout simplement incroyable et le Fais dodo c'était tout qu'un party! Dimanche c'était complètement fou avec tout le monde qu'il y avait là mais ça en a fait un énorme succès. Déjà 14,000 participants!! J'étais encore un mardi gras pendant le défilé et j'ai vraiment aimé ça. Tout le monde aimait ça nous voir. Tout le monde sauf les chiens! Il y en a un qui a manqué me sauter dessus mais heureusement que son maître l'a retenu! Mais ça m'a pas trop dérangé, les enfants ont trouvé ça super drôle. Au Fais dodo en Acadie aussi je me suis déguisé en mardi gras. Dans la photo on peut voir les employés d'été, je vous laisse deviner qui est qui!

Wow! I think that's all I can say after a week-end like that! It's been non stop from Thursday to Sunday. But what a start to the Festival! The opening was absolutely fantastic and what a party on Saturday! Sunday was just crazy with all those people but that's what made it such a success! Already 14,000 participants!! I was still disguised as a mardi gras for the parade this year and I really enjoyed it. Everyone loves seeing us go by. Everyone except the dogs! One of them almost attacked me but fortunately his owner held him back. I didn't mind though, the kids thought it was hilarious. At the Fais dodo en Acadie I was a mardi gras too. The picture shows the Festival summer employees, I'll let you guess who is who!

Le décompte est commencé! Il reste seulement 9 jours avant le Festival!! Le temps passe vite mais il reste encore beaucoup de choses à faire avant l'ouverture! Bientôt je vais commencer à animer l'émission du Festival comme j'ai fait l'année passée. Mais contrairement à l'année passée, cette fois-ci ça va être au Rendez-vous de la Baie et non à CIFA! Les gens au Rendez-vous pourront nous écouter en direct et nous aurons des invités spéciaux qui vont nous jouer de la musique! J'ai hâte de voir comment tout ça va se dérouler et j'espère que ça va bien aller!

The countdown has started! There are only 9 days left before the Festival!! Time flies by but there is still a lot of work to do before the opening! Pretty soon I will start to animate the Festival radio show like I did last year. But unlike last year, this time it will be broadcasted from the Rendez-vous de la Baie and not from CIFA! The people at the Rendez-vous will be able to hear the show and we will have special guests who will play us some live music! I can't wait to see how it will all turn out and I hope it will go well!

Il reste exactement trois semaines avant le début du Festival!! Ça passe vite! Ça travaille fort pas mal au bureau du Festival pour tout finir et tout avoir de prêt avant que ça commence! En espérant qu'on aura la chance de tout finir à temps!

Comme l'année passée, je vais être l'hôte de l'émission du Festival à CIFA tous les soirs de 16h à 18h. Même les fins de semaine! L'autre nouveauté pour cette année est que ça va être en direct du Rendez-vous de la Baie! J'ai hâte de voir comment tout ça va se dérouler!

There are exactly three weeks left before the start of the Festival!! Time goes by so fast! We're all working really hard here in the Festival office to get everything ready before it starts! I sure hope we'll be able to finish everything in time!

Just like last year, I will be the host for the Festival's radio show on CIFA every night from 4 to 6. Even on week-ends! The other new feature for this year is that I will be live from the Rendez-vous de la Baie! I can't wait to see how that will work out!

Il reste moins de trois semaines avant la première activité du Festival! Le lundi 26 juillet il y aura un atelier de cerf-volant pour la première fois! Tout le monde pourra venir faire son propre cerf-volant pour faire voler lors de la journée à la plage une semaine plus tard! Demain nous allons essayé de voler un de nos cerf-volants démonstrateurs à Mavillette. En espérant que ça fonctionne!!

There are less than three weeks left before the first activity of the Festival! On Monday July 26 there will be a kite workshop for the very first time! Anyone and everyone can come down to create their very own kite and fly it during our day on the beach a week later! Tomorrow we will try and fly our demonstration kite at Mavillette. I hope it'll work out!!

Après des semaines de préparations et d'inquiétudes nous avons finalement eu la conférence de presse! Moi et 5 autres personnes ont monté le jeudi pour tout préparer pour l'arrivée des autres le vendredi matin. J'étais nerveuse en masse mais tout s'est vraiment bien déroulé! Il y avait beaucoup de médias et même des gens du public qui ont pu se rendre! J'ai eu la chance de parler à quelques-uns des participants et ils m'ont dit qu'ils ont vraiment aimé ça et que ça leur a donné envie de venir au Festival!

After weeks of preparations and worrying we finally had our press conference! Me and 5 others drove up to Moncton on Thursday to get everything ready before the others arrived on Friday morning. I was plenty nervous but everything went really well! There were a lot of people from the media and even a few from the public who were able to attend. I got the chance to speak to a few of the participants and they told me they really enjoyed it and it made them want to come to the Festival!

Il reste seulement 37 jours avant le Festival! Wow! C'est vraiment pas longtemps! Et c'est déjà ma huitième semaine avec le Festival! Je n'ai jamais eu un été qui a passé si vite! Cette semaine c'est la semaine de la conférence de presse! Ce vendredi à Moncton on va présenter notre horaire aux médias du Nouveau-Brunswick pour attirer une toute nouvelle clientèle! Tout le monde au bureau travaille fort pour finaliser ça et on espère que tout va bien se dérouler!

Aussi, nos billets sont disponibles!! Vous pouvez maintenant acheter vos billets pour les spectacles du Festival et le Souper de l'Ordre du Bon Temps! Prenez-vous d'avance, surtout pour le souper parce que vous ne voudrez pas manquer ça!

There are only 37 days before the Festival! Wow! That's not long! And it's already my 8th week with the Festival! I don't think I've ever had a summer that's gone by so quickly! This week is the week of the press conference! This Friday in Moncton we will be presenting our schedule to the New-Brunswick media to try and attract a whole new clientele! Everyone in the office is working hard on making it a success and we hope it all works out!

Also, our tickets are available!! You can now buy your tickets for the concerts as well as the Order of Good Cheer Supper! Don't wait too long before getting your tickets, especially for the Supper 'cos you won't want to miss it!

Il reste seulement deux semaines avant notre conférence de presse à Moncton et il reste encore beaucoup de choses à faire! Bientôt nous allons envoyer des invitations pour les gens du média à venir nous écouter, en espérant qu'il y en a beaucoup qui vont venir! De plus, n'importe qui pourra nous regarder en direct sur UStream! La conférence de presse sera diffusée à partir de notre salle au Crown Plaza au lien suivant -> www.ustream.tv/channel/festivalacadiendeclare . Si tout va bien on aura des gens de partout qui vont nous regarder; d'ici, du Québec, de la Louisiane et même de la France! Mais pour que ça soit possible il faut qu'ils soient au courant! Il est temps que je retourne au travail!

Moncton!

Finalement le voyage à Moncton c'était vraiment super! À part le flat et la pluie pour revenir tout c'est très bien passé! C'était vraiment intéressant les rencontres avec CTV et Radio-Canada. J'ai pu observer et absorber tout ce qui a été dit. Si tout va bien, on devrait passer à CTV sur les émissions Get Cooking et BT! Et Radio-Canada nous ont dit qu'ils allaient diffuser en direct pour l'ouverture du Festival! Wow! Ils vont aussi enregistrer la journée du défilé et bazar! On a aussi été voir la salle Albert au Crown Plaza où nous allons avoir notre conférence de presse le 25 juin - c'est super beau! On aura surement beaucoup de préparations à faire en vue de cette journée mais j'ai vraiment hâte de voir ce que ça va donner!

Un des points forts du voyage a été notre souper au St-Hubert où le service était ultra rapide et le manger était délicieux! Ça faisait vraiment longtemps que j'avais pas mangé à un St-Hubert! Je suis aussi tombé follement amoureuse du centre d'achat à Moncton mais ça c'est une autre histoire ;)

The trip to Moncton turned out great! A part from the flat tire and the hard rain on the way back, everything was fine! The meetings with CTV and Radio-Canada were really interesting. I was able to observe and absorb everything that was said. If all goes well, we should be appearing on CTV's Get Cooking and BT! And Radio-Canada said they would be broadcasting the opening concert live! They will also be there to record on the day of the parade and bazaar! We also got to take a look at the Albert hall at the Crown Plaza where we will have our press conference on June 25 - it looks great! I'm sure we'll have a lot of things to do in the following weeks to get ready for that day but I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes!

One of the highlights of the trip was our supper at St-Hubert where the service was crazy fast and the food was absolutely delicious. It had been a really long time since I'd eaten at that restaurant. I also fell madly in love with the mall in Moncton but that's another story ;)

Road trip! Voyage!

Je m'apprête à embarquer sur mon tout premier voyage du Festival en dehors de la province! Moi et Lisette, la directrice générale (son blog - http://directricegenerale.blogspot.com), on monte à Moncton pour une conférence de presse sur le Festival acadien de Caraquet. On va signer une entente avec leur festival et en même temps on va rencontrer des gens de Radio-Canada et CTV pour discuter des idées de marketing! Ça va être ma première expérience avec une conférence de presse et des rencontres de marketing - j'ai hâte de voir ce que ça va donner! On va aussi en profiter pour visiter le site de notre conférence de presse. Ça aussi ça va être intéressant! Déjà mon été s'annonce plus intense que le dernier, j'espère pouvoir survivre! ;)

I'm getting ready to embark on my very first Festival trip outside of the province! Me and Lisette, the general manager (her blog - http://directricegenerale.blogspot.com), are going to Moncton for a press conference on the Festival acadien de Caraquet. We will be signing an agreement with their festival and at the same time we will be meeting some people from Radio-Canada and CTV to discuss marketing options! It's gonna be my first experience with a press conference and marketing discussions - can't wait to see how it goes! We're also going to visit the location for our press conference. That's gonna be pretty exciting too! My summer's already shaping up to me more intense than the last, here's hoping I survive! ;)

Apple Blossom Festival

Pour ma deuxième participation au défilé du Apple Blossom Festival, je peux dire que c'était vraiment super! Il y avait énormément de participants et de gens qui ont pris nore photo. C'était drôle de voir les réactions des jeunes quand ils voyaient les "grosses têtes" passer avec les mardi gras! Je suis confiante qu'ils ont bien aimé ça! J'ai espérance qu'on aura réussi à convaincre quelques personnes à nous visiter pendant notre Festival! Vous pouvez me voir dans la photo à droite, même si je suis difficile à re connaitre ;), je suis le mardi gras entre les deux grosses têtes!

For my second participation in the Apple Blossom Festival parade, I can say that it was awesome! There were a whole lot of people there and a great deal who took our picture! It was funny to see how the kids reacted to the "Big heads" and mardi gras! I thin they really enjoyed it. I'm hoping we managed to convince a few people to come join our Festival, or at least got them curious about it. You can see me in the picture, although I'm hard to recognize ;), I'm the mardi gras between the two big heads.

Salut tout le monde! Bienvenu à mon blog! C'est mon premier blog à vie mais j'ai l'intention de m'en servir du mieux que je peux! Vous pourrez lire ici au sujet de mes aventures avec le Festival acadien de Clare pendant l'été.

Ce samedi, le Festival sera présent dans le défilé du Apple Blossom Festival à Kentville. Nous aurons avec nous Évangeline et Gabriel, deux "grosses têtes" et deux mardi gras suivis par le véhicule de la directrice générale toute décorée! J'y étais l'année passée aussi et vous pouvez voir dans la photo moi (le mardi gras) et une des "grosses têtes" que j'ai mentionné. Ça annonce du gros soleil et j'ai confiance que ça va bien aller! Je viendrai vous raconter comment ça s'est passé en fin de semaine!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! I've never had a blog before but I intend to use this one to the best of my abilities! You'll be able to read all about my adventures with the Festival acadien de Clare during the summer.

This Saturday, the Festival will be present in the parade for the Apple Blossom Festival in Kentville. We are bringing with us Évangeline and Gabriel, two "big heads" and two mardi gras followed by the general manager's car all decorated for the event. I was there last year and you can see me in the picture (the mardi gras) with one of the "big heads" I was mentioning. It's supposed to be nice and sunny for the parade and I'm confident it'll be great! I'll let you know how it went later during the week-end!
